Channelling the anger. ~ The Friar

The credit crunch may be bad news for most companies, but not all. The is one business that is positively booming through the impending recession. Sarah’s Smash Shack in San Diego, California is doing brisk business, and what business is Sarah’s in?

In Sarah’s Smash Shack customers pay $10 for a 15-minute’s smashing plates and glasses frenzy, relieving any pent-up anger or frustrations. During the frenzy loud music is played and flashing signs encourage customers to “Break More Stuff”.

The owner of the shop is Sara Lavely told the Sunday Times that “Customers may be under financial strain, may be stuck in a job they can’t leave.

One of her customers, Adam DeWitt, an insurance broker, said, “You get mad and do something to your stuff at home and you think to yourself: God, that was stupid. But here you watch it smash and you have no remorse afterwards. We smashed some plates, a couple of TV trays, some cups and mugs”.
